New to The Station Hair Studio? Here's Everything You Need to Know
Welcome! Your First Visit Guide | The Station Hair Studio | Denver, CO
First salon visits can feel a little nerve-wracking, especially if you're trying somewhere new, going for a big change, or just not sure what to expect from the process. We get it. And we want you to feel completely at ease before you ever walk through our door.
So consider this your inside look at exactly what happens when you visit The Station Hair Studio for the first time. No surprises, no guesswork, just a straightforward and friendly walkthrough of everything from finding parking to leaving with hair you love.
Finding Us and Parking
We're located at 1120 Delaware St #120, Denver, CO 80204 in the Baker neighborhood, just south of downtown Denver.
Parking is street parking only in our area. The good news is that Delaware St and the surrounding blocks typically have available street parking, and it's free. We recommend giving yourself an extra 5 to 10 minutes before your appointment to find a spot, especially on busy weekend mornings. If you're driving for the first time, a quick Google Maps search for our address will show you exactly where we are and the best streets to check for parking nearby.
If you're running a few minutes late because of parking, just shoot us a text or give us a call. We'd much rather know than have you rushing and stressed before your appointment even starts.
When You Arrive
Walk in, take a breath, and know that you're in good hands.
When you arrive you'll be greeted by our front desk team. Let them know who you're here to see and they'll get you settled. We'll offer you a drink, you can hang your coat, and within a few minutes your stylist will come out to meet you.
There's no need to arrive dramatically early. A few minutes before your appointment time is perfect. If this is your first visit and you have photos or inspiration saved on your phone, have those ready. Your consultation is the perfect time to share them.
The Consultation: Where Every Great Appointment Starts
Every single appointment at The Station, whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth, begins with a consultation. This isn't a formality we rush through. It's genuinely the most important part of your service, and we treat it that way.
Your stylist will sit down with you, look at your hair, ask about your goals, your lifestyle, your hair history, and any concerns you have. They'll look at your inspiration photos if you have them and give you their honest professional read on what's achievable, what would look great on you specifically, and what kind of plan makes sense for your hair's health and your budget.
Here's the thing about consultations that not everyone knows going in: this is your chance to ask every question you have. How long will this take? What will it cost? How often will I need to come back? What does my hair actually need versus what I think it needs? Will this damage my hair? Your stylist wants to answer all of it. That's the whole point. An informed client is a happy client, and we would rather spend an extra ten minutes in consultation than have you leave with any uncertainty about what just happened to your hair.
If at any point during the consultation you feel like the service being proposed isn't quite what you had in mind, say so. We are not precious about our ideas. We want you to leave loving your hair, and that starts with getting on the same page before anyone picks up a brush or a pair of shears.
How to Choose the Right Stylist
One of the most common questions new clients have is: how do I know which stylist to book with?
The honest answer is that every stylist at The Station is genuinely talented and thoroughly trained. You won't have a bad experience regardless of who you book with. But different stylists do have different specialties, and matching yourself to the right one makes a real difference.
Here's a simple guide:
If you have naturally curly or wavy hair and want a curl-specific cut, look for one of our curl specialists. Shadie, Crystal, Micki, Megan, Dani, Diana, Hind, Bella, and Felina all work with textured hair and are trained in curl-cutting techniques.
If you want hand-painted balayage, both Celia and Bella are strong in this technique.
If you want extensions, look for a stylist certified in the specific method you're interested in. Book a consultation first and our team will match you with the right specialist. While they specialize in different methods, Celia, Dani, Felina and Hind all offer extension services.
If you want perms, The Station does more perms than any other salon in Denver. Our perm specialists are Micki, Diana and Felina.
If you want vibrant, rainbow, fun colors, Bella, Felina and Ella all love this type of look.
If you want a barbering style, short cut, fade or taper, then Megan is your girl.
If you're not sure, book a consultation. Seriously. A standalone consultation lets you meet your stylist, talk through your goals, and figure out the right plan before committing to a full service appointment. It's the best way to start if you have any uncertainty at all. We offer a lot of services not listed above, so feel free to give us a call and let us help match you to the right stylist!
You can also browse our team page to read each stylist's bio and get a feel for their personality and specialty before you book.
What to Bring and How to Arrive
Inspiration photos: Save them to your camera roll before you come in. Screenshots from Instagram, Pinterest saves, photos of your own hair from a time you loved it, all of it is helpful. Don't worry about having the "perfect" photo. Even a rough direction is useful for your stylist.
Your hair as it naturally is: For color appointments and most cut appointments, arrive with your hair clean, dry, and worn down. Don't blow it out or style it heavily. Your stylist wants to see how your hair naturally behaves. For curl appointments specifically, arrive with your hair clean, dry, down, and fully detangled so your stylist can see your natural curl pattern clearly.
Honesty about your hair history: This one matters more than most people realize. If you've had a box color, a keratin treatment, a perm, or any chemical service, even a while ago, tell your stylist. Previous chemical processes affect how your hair responds to new ones, and knowing your full history helps your stylist make the right formula decisions and avoid any surprises during your service.
Comfortable clothes: You'll be in a salon cape for most of your appointment, but it's worth wearing a top you don't mind getting a little product on, just in case.
Pricing Transparency: No Surprises
We believe in telling you what things cost before we start, not after. At The Station, we like to discuss pricing during your consultation so you always know exactly what you're agreeing to before any service begins. Your stylist might not always bring up price, so if you have a budget in mind, please let them know. We would much rather have an honest conversation up front rather than have any surprises at the end of your service. Talking about your budget shouldn’t feel uncomfortable here; this is a safe space.
Our pricing is based on the service, the time it takes, and the products used, not a flat rate applied the same way to everyone regardless of hair length, density, or complexity. A full balayage on long, thick hair genuinely takes more time and product than the same service on shorter, finer hair, and we price accordingly.
To hold your appointment, we require a card on file at the time of booking. Your card is not charged until after your service is complete. This allows us to reserve your stylist's time while keeping the booking process simple and low-pressure.
You can view our starting prices for all services on our Services and Pricing page before you book so you have a general sense of the ranges going in.
Cancellation and Late Policies
We're a small boutique studio. When a client cancels last-minute or doesn't show up, that's a gap in a stylist's day that can't be filled on short notice, which directly affects their livelihood. We ask that you respect that, and we promise to always respect your time in return.
Our cancellation policy: We ask for at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.
If you're running late: Please let us know as soon as possible. We'll always do our best to accommodate you, but depending on how late and what service you're booked for, we may need to adjust or reschedule, especially for longer services like color or extensions where timing is critical to the result.
No-shows are charged the full service amount to the card on file. We hope you'll never be in that situation, and we know life happens, but a heads-up even on short notice always goes a long way.
None of this is meant to feel punitive. It's just the reality of how a small salon runs, and we want you to know it upfront so there are no awkward conversations later.
What If You're Not Happy With Your Result?
This is the question nobody wants to ask, but it's worth answering clearly: if you're not happy with your service, tell us.
We mean that genuinely. Hair is personal, and even the best consultation and the most skilled stylist can occasionally miss the mark on what a client was envisioning. It happens. What matters is that we know about it and have the chance to make it right.
If you leave your appointment and something doesn't feel right — the color isn't quite what you expected, the cut isn't sitting the way you hoped — reach out to us within a reasonable timeframe and let us know. We will always work with you to find a solution. That might mean a toning adjustment, a small tweak to the cut, or a conversation about what the next step looks like.
What we ask in return is that you come back to us first before leaving a negative review or going somewhere else to fix it. Give us the chance to make it right. That's a commitment we take seriously, and it's one we're proud to stand behind.

We can't wait to meet you. Whether you're coming in for a trim, a full color transformation, a curl session, or just a consultation to figure out what your hair actually needs, you're in the right place.
