why dry cut vs wet cut? which should i choose?
Wear your hair curly 100% of the time? Our Curl Session Dry Cut might be the better option for you. Each curl is cut precisely for how it lives, taking all of the guesswork out of how your curls will fall on a day-to-day basis. A custom haircut tailored to your unique curl pattern.
Want the option to wear your hair curly some days, but maybe not everyday? You should consider our Curl Session Wet Cut, and a heads-up to your Curl Specialist durning your consultation, that way this session can be tailored to the many ways you want to style your hair, so that no matter what, your shape is on point.

why a curl cut? and how is it different than a "regular" cut?
Both our Curl Session and our Studio Cut are intuitive, intentional, and rooted in creating effortless, lived-in shape, but they’re designed for different needs.
A Curl Session is tailored specifically for naturally textured hair. We work with your curls in their natural state—cutting wet, dry, or both—depending on your pattern, density, and goals. This allows us to shape your hair based on how it springs, settles, and lives, creating a result that enhances your curl pattern and supports your day-to-day styling.
Our Studio Cut is equally thoughtful, but is ideal for those with straighter textures or those who regularly smooth or heat-style their hair. It focuses more on form, flow, and movement when worn straight or loosely waved.
Both are elevated experiences; we just meet your hair where it’s at.

how do i keep my curls from getting frizzy?
Frizz is just a curl looking for connection-usually with moisture. The best way to keep frizz at bay is to focus on hydration, gentle handling, and the right products for your curl type. Think sulfate-free cleansers, rich conditioners, and stylers that lock in moisture without weighing things down.
How you dry and sleep matters too. Use a microfiber towel or cotton tee to blot (never rub), avoid touching your hair while it dries, and try a silk pillowcase or bonnet to protect your curls overnight.
And remember: not all frizz is bad. A little halo can be part of the magic—perfect curls don’t exist, but healthy, happy ones do.

what is balayage, and how is it different from highlights?
Balayage is a technique where lightener is hand-painted onto the hair to create soft, seamless dimension. It’s designed to mimic the way the sun naturally lightens the hair, with a softer grow-out and a more lived-in feel.
Traditional highlights use foils to create a more defined, uniform brightness, perfect for lifting closer to the root, creating contrast, or achieving an overall lighter look.
Both are beautiful, customizable options; balayage tends to feel more low-maintenance and sun-kissed, while traditional highlights offer more precision and control. It’s never about one being better than the other; it’s about choosing the right approach for you.
-
how long does balayage last?
Balayage looks as fresh and beautiful as the day it was done for about 3 to 6 months, but because it grows out so seamlessly and naturally, it can actually go untouched for months or even years and still look amazing until you decide to cut it off or color over it.
Maintenance is totally personal and based on your goals; your colorist will help you decide what’s best for you. Many people enjoy glossing treatments between appointments to refresh shine and tone, but it’s not always necessary. Balayage is designed to mimic how the sun naturally lightens hair, making it uniquely perfect for your individual color.

what type of hair extensions are there, and which method is best for my hair?
There are several popular types of hair extensions to choose from: temporary options like clip-in and halo extensions, and more long-lasting methods including fusion (also called k-tip or keratin tip), i-tip, tape-in, and hand-tied (also known as sew-in or invisible beaded row).
Each type has its own benefits based on how long you want to wear extensions, your hair texture, and your lifestyle. Clip-ins and halos are great for occasional wear and easy removal, while fusion, i-tip, tape-in, and hand-tied extensions offer more durable, natural-looking results suited for everyday wear.
Your stylist will help you choose the best option to match your hair type, maintenance preferences, and style goals.
